Ah. Er, hello? Oh, uhm. This is rather weird...right! T-This is Newt Scamander. Well, actually, this is a pre recorded message for Newt Scamander. I'm quite busy, so I may have missed you. Do please leave a message and I'll get back to you. Apologies.

I'm sorry. [He's more sympathetic about her loss than he's thinking about his own, because of course he is. But...if Chloe is forthcoming with information and being honest, he feels like it would be an insult not to offer more back.]
If I keep myself busy, it's easier not to think about it, is all.
I named the rabbit he left behind, Eliot. I think that's probably telling enough.
[He doesn't handle these kind of things well at all. Eliot leaving was just compounded with so much other loss that he kind of just grouped it all together. He also certainly had somewhat of a breakdown or more with that, but he's not super forthcoming about that information either since his return.]
Either sounds wonderful.

i'm sorry this place is so fucking shitty. i know there's not a whole lot i can say to make it easier, but... i'm here, okay? if you wanna rant or like
break things
breaking things helped me feel a lot better
i'll bring both

I can't really have nothing to argue against it.
[There's a pause as he considers her words for a moment.]
It's almost quite funny. He had been so worried I had left because I was gone for a few days and in the end, it seems he's the one who would be leaving. Hilariously ironic, don't you think?
But, no. Breaking things has never been something I've done and it won't really bring anyone back.
You don't really have to concern yourse
Wait.
Right now?

seems to be the way shit goes. rachel was always telling me not to abandon her, not to betray her, not to hurt her, and she ended up doing all of the above in one big swoop. i think the universe likes to run on that kind of shit.
you don't break stuff to bring someone back, you do it because it gets out the anger
yeah right now

I'm not particularly angry though.
[He can probably easily say he's quite upset though. There's so much happening in his life that it's hard not to though.]
I suppose I can't convince you to come another time? [He imagines that she knows better than to give him time to mentally prepare himself for the situation.] I only have tea.

I'm quite bad at it. Getting angry. I think it would be nice if I could. A bit.

[ She had grabbed some of the baked goods she usually made far too many of on a regular basis, shoving the containers into her bag and going to grab the keys to her truck.
It doesn't take that long for her to get to the townhouses, and she hops out, walking to his and knocking on the door. She's just... hoping he's not in his suitcase so he can actually hear her. Hopefully warning him she was on his way made sure of that. ]

He seemed tired, honestly. Getting on by, but there's definitely a sadder air to him. He offers her a small smile though.] Come in in. I've got a pot on the stove, and that should be ready soon.
[He steps out of the way to let her in.
The place seems to be the same, but there seems to be more dishware in the cupboards and around the kitchen. He did recently acquire a roommate and their friend, so of course there's more things to accommodate someone else living in the townhouse. Not that he has mentioned it to anyone.] I don't think we've seen each other recently. The last month has been somewhat odd hasn't it?
